ErfGoed is taking the next step in its development with the appointment of Gideon de Jager as Commercial Manager. Together with owner Hugo Paans and a team of approximately 40 colleagues, the company is entering a new phase focused on growth, positioning and market approach.
De Jager brings with him a broad and entrepreneurial background. In 2003, he joined the family business Codema, where he played a key role in the company's growth and professionalization. In August 2018, Codema was acquired by Nordian Capital, after which De Jager concluded his role within the company in early 2020. Since then, he has been active as an advisor on buy-and-build strategies within the sector.
A new phase for ErfGoed
De Jager's involvement with ErfGoed stems from a shared belief in the company's strong foundation and the opportunities present in the market.
"ErfGoed has a rich history and a strong technical foundation. That foundation offers clear potential to build towards the next phase," says Gideon de Jager. "The demand for solutions that deliver profitability, predictability, and efficiency in cultivation continues to grow. That is exactly where ErfGoed's strength lies."

A strategic direction
ErfGoed's strategic direction is clear and forward-looking. The company contributes to a future-proof horticultural sector, where high-quality products are produced responsibly, with efficient use of water and energy. Based on this vision, ErfGoed listens closely to its customers and translates their needs into integrated and profitable solutions. The company does not think in terms of individual products, but in complete systems.
In practice, this means that ErfGoed focuses on the design, production, and realization of cultivation floors and water management systems that support uniform, predictable, and profitable growing processes.
"It's not just about technology," De Jager explains. "It's about creating a stable and predictable foundation that growers can rely on. This enables our customers to grow with greater control, less waste, and improved returns."
Focus on market and relationships
In his role as Commercial Manager, De Jager will primarily focus on strengthening ErfGoed's market position, building relationships, and developing new commercial opportunities.
"Horticulture is a sector we live and breathe," says De Jager. "I look forward to being actively back in the market, engaging with customers, and working together on new projects."
Owner Hugo Paans is equally positive about the collaboration: "With Gideon, we are not only bringing in experience, but also energy and a strong network. This will help us take the next step with ErfGoed."
