Chris Visco owns the largest medical cannabis company in Pennsylvania, and she is about to own the old Stadium Frames building in Huntington on Third Avenue where she will open one of the state's first medical cannabis dispensaries.
“It’s an exciting time. They’ll be lots of tax revenue for the state and lots of job opportunities and yeah, we’re just excited to come to West Virginia," Visco said.
Her company in Pennsylvania is called TerraVida Holistic Centers, but here in West Virginia, her company will go by Kindness WV. She received one of the one hundred permits issued by the state's Office of Medical Cannabis.
Kindness WV will partner with other growers and processors within the state to create the product, but the company wants to hire 35 local people to run their Huntington dispensary. Visco said the overall goal is to introduce this new form of healing to the state.
