In the fast-paced and hi-tech world of Ohio marijuana, it's easy enough to assume all products are created on a truly massive and dehumanized scale. While this may be true for some dispensaries, The Landing Dispensary–part of the Firelands Scientific family–is embracing cultivative care and small-scale attention to detail.
Operating as a vertically integrated Cannabis producer, Firelands grows all of its own cannabis, creates each of its own products, and distributes them at facilities like The Landing, which is located at 724 W. Gay St.
According to cultivation director Ben Abourjelly, all of The Landing's cannabis is grown in Huron, Ohio, just a stone's throw from the shores of Lake Erie, where he says the lake acts as a "temperature buffer," leading to more stable growing conditions and a long-lasting growing season.
The intensive growing process starts by creating a clone of one of Firelands 200 mother plants, which is then transplanted, receiving 18 hours of sunlight for two weeks before they're transferred, allowed to flower, then harvested, dried, trimmed and cured.
