The European market is poised to be one of the most profitable for medical cannabis, according to many reports. Countries like Germany, Portugal, and North Macedonia offer optimal conditions from a growing and regulatory standpoint. At the same time, there are also other countries in Europe that are less explored, yet offer good opportunities for manufacturing medicines from cannabis biomass. This is why Agrikol has set up its medical cannabis project in Serbia.
The only certified medical cannabis company in Serbia
“Canexus by Agrikol is the only certified company in Serbia that deals with the production of medical cannabis, and it works according to the highest European standards,” says Nikola Petković with Agrikol. “Our main goal is that our plants contain the highest and most optimal percentage of CBD in order to make the best quality oil. Our varieties and clones grow under the best manufacturing practices using the best scientific methods available to us.”
Following highest standards
Indeed, Europe counts one of the strictest standards when it comes to producing medical cannabis. “The CBD manufacturing process contains many steps from seed to sale,” Nikola points out. “From the selection of the cultivar, and the cultivation, to the processing, extraction and refinement. Since CBD is intended for use as a medicine, or a food supplement, it is essential that both hemp cultivation and CBD extraction are carried out following EU-GMP guidelines.” That is exactly the reason why Canexus' cannabis facility is GMP and CESNA certified.
“GMP can only refer to one step or to the entire production process,” Nikola remarks. “Our GMP practices begin from the first step to the finished product. Our production work is in accordance with GMP guidelines, which are an integral part of Canexus' quality management system. Each location clearly documents all aspects of the production and testing process. Our staff, facilities and materials align with the highest standards.”
